UCLA and UCOP Resources
The following is guidance provided by UCLA Research Policy Compliance. Research Policy and Compliance (RPC) provides leadership in shaping, interpreting and implementing UC and UCLA research-related policies, procedures and guidance. The office operates under the direction of Ann Pollack, Associate Vice Chancellor–Research, and reports to Roger Wakimoto, the Vice Chancellor for Research. Research Cores
The Pasarow Mass Spectrometry Laboratory
The PMSL is an analytical resource for the UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative and serves as a core mass spectrometry laboratory for the entire UCLA campus and beyond. It also serves as a teaching venue to provide instruction in analytical chemistry. Teaching others, most importantly the next generation of scientists, is a crucial role the facility fulfills. The work in the laboratory can be broadly broken into two components: these are work involving small molecules (metabolites, drugs including cannabinoids, and metabolomics), and proteins including both top-down and bottom-up proteomics. The Semel Institute Biostatistics Core (SIStat)
SiStat is a team of expert biostatisticians, methodologists and research support staff that provides statistical assistance and database management for studies related to the UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids. The mission of the Semel Institute Core is to foster research productivity and quality by helping faculty design sound research projects, obtain independent funding, and analyze data correctly. Grant development services such as design and statistical consultation, power analysis, and analyses of pilot data are available to Semel Institute and all UCLA faculty without charge.
