UCLA Cannabis and Cannabinoid Laboratory Studies

CanSex Study

The purpose of this study is to see how cannabis influences mood and pain. We’re looking for healthy adults (age 21-55) who use cannabis and do not have pain. This study requires 1-3 in-person screening visits and 3 full-day cannabis smoking sessions in the laboratory. You can earn up to $399 if you complete this study.

Terpene Study

The purpose of this study is to see how chemicals in the cannabis plant called THC and terpenes influence mood and pain. We’re looking for health adults (age 21-55) who use cannabis and do not have pain. This study requires 1-3 in-person screening visits and 15 full-day cannabis vaporizing sessions in the laboratory. You can earn up to $1725 if you complete this study.

S-TACOFS study

The purpose of this study is to see how chemicals in the cannabis plant can be detected in your blood and saliva, and how they influence impairment and mood. We’re looking for healthy adults (age 21-55) who use cannabis infrequently (once per week or less). This study requires 1-3 in-person screening visits and 4 full-day cannabis smoking sessions in the laboratory. You can earn up to $500 for completing this study.

CBG study

The purpose of this study is to see how chemicals in the cannabis plant called THC and CBG influence mood, pain, and appetite. We’re looking for healthy adults (age 21-55) who use cannabis and do not have pain. This study requires 2 in-person screening visits and 9 full-day cannabis vaporizing sessions in the laboratory. You can earn up to $1000 if you complete this study.

The purpose of this study is to test a medication (AEF0117) to reduce cannabis use. We are looking for people who would like to quit using cannabis and currently use cannabis at least 5 days per week. This study requires up to 28 visits over 20 weeks at the UCLA Medical Center. Cannabis and E-Cigarette Study

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of cannabis smoking and ecigarette use on the electrocardiogram and certain blood tests for inflammation. We’re looking for health young adults (age 21-30) who use cannabis and/or ecigarettes. This study requires one 1-hour in-person session in the laboratory. You can earn up to $50 if you complete this study.
