The talk covered the history of cannabis research at UCLA and focused on what science tells us about cannabis smoking and the effects on lung health.

The UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids Steering Committee was excited to be joined by Amanda Chicago Lewis, a well-known investigative reporter whose writing on cannabis has been featured in many media outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal,  Rolling Stone, and NPR.  The talk focused on the history and science of CBD (cannabidiol), a chemical from the cannabis plant that is popping up everywhere from health food stores to veterinary clinics.
